わびさび

ともに否定的感情を表す言葉ですが、茶の湯や俳諧の世界では「美」を表す用語として使われています。

古い陶器や建造物、苔・落ち葉といったものに情緒、趣を感じるのは、もともと私たちの心にこういった「わびさび」の精神が根付いているからなのかもしれません。
